Ooh, I was just trying to decide. I know Julian Barnes' Nothing to Be Frightened Of is on the list, and Fran Cannon Slayton's When the Whistle Blows. And then, if I can find a copy of Frances Hardinge's The Lost Conspiracy, I may read that, too.

I have family coming in, so my reading time will be limited, but I hope to finish The Journals of Lewis and Clark this weekend.
i'm working double shifts all weekend, so the only book in my hand will be the am ones you take orders in lol your books sound good though

Wanted some light fare, so I have Julie and Julia (though I find reading a book after seeing the movie is even more difficult than the reverse) and Beach Trip by Cathy Holton (which so far is quite good but not as light as the title sounds). And of course my own WIP. For the 98th time.
I'm about midway through Jonathan Stange and Mr. Norrell. Next up is Miss Alice Merriwether's Long Lost Cakes & Further Arcane Inducements to Wonder.

Well, I'm bringing two books I've been trying to finish for months: Middlemarch (I know, I know - I'm on the last section!) and a graphic novel called My Inner Bimbo. I've also been reading the original illustrated text of Peter Pan, which has gone pretty quickly and I'll probably finish that easily. And then if I finish all of those, I'll have one more in reserve. I'm thinking Brave New World - if I finish that too, that will be THREE books off of my Fill in the Gaps list in one weekend! Goal!!
Karl Iglesias' Writing for Emotional Impact (a gem of a tip from a pro's blog that I've since lost in the haze). Plus I've got a Vines book and Tender Morsels, which has been giving me a rough ride so far.
Once I murder and dispose of the bodies of my 32 inlaws, OOPS did I say that out loud? I mean, once I've FED THEM AND SAID GOODBYE on Thanksgiving to them, I'll be reading:

I have THE MAZE RUNNER by James Dashner, THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins, LISEY'S STORY by Stephen King, and a romance I bought at Walgreens (I'd tell you what it is, but I can't remember and it's in the car).
They will probably be read in that order. :)
I'm re-reading Stone's Fall by Ian Pears. Love the way he writes. Also working on Negotiating with the Dead by Margaret Atwood. Next up, an arc of Stardust by Joseph Kanon, though I might dip into some Alice Hoffman instead. The weather is gray and wet, and a little magic might be just the solution.

I just started "Pictures at a Revolution," a nonfiction book about the 1968 Academy Awards nominees, and their paths to production as the film industry underwent radical changes. I am, however, going to two Thanksgiving dinners, so my reading time might not be too plentiful.
I need to start and finish The Lost Symbol for book club. After all of the "I hate anything even a little related to Dan Brown" hype, I have to say that I'm still kinda looking forward to getting lost in it. Maybe I'm a sucker.
I can only choose one book for the weekend. I have three kids who should probably get bathed and fed at some point while they're out of school. Just sayin'...
I'm in a real Jane Austen mood, so I'm going to read some Jane Austen spinoff books (like BECOMING JANE)...not sure which one I'll start with first.
I'm in a Scandinavian mood: I just finished Per Petterson's In the Wake, so I'll be reading To Siberia next. Also have just got The Kindly Ones by Littell to start too (it's huge!!!). That should keep me busy.
As soon as I finish my reread of THE GLASS DRAGON (Irene Radford), I'll figure it out.

I'm busy writing my own book (I'll let you borrow it, if you like):) and am reading a book I grabbed randomly off a library shelf (that's what happens when you take a four-year-old with you to the library) titled THE PAJAMA GIRLS OF LAMBERT SQUARE.
Luckily, the family is well aware of my book/reading addiction.
Not all understand it, but they accept it, and I am thankful that they do.
I will be finishing up Spooner by Pete Dexter and starting on American Pastoral by Philip Roth.

Fabulous book by an excellent author. The story was intriguing and well written. I couldn't put it down and read the over 900 page book in 2 days. I'm already thinking of reading it all over again.
