yes, my entire family is now reading The Wheel of Time (it's like the Rat family book club)

My sister called me a Darkfriend!! All because I was a *teensy* bit misleading about who was gonna blow the Horn of Valere. I was *protecting* her from a spoiled plot! And besides, it wasn't like I actually lied about it! I live my life by the three oaths!

Which brings us to our Weekly Poll.

Could be worse. She could have introduced the Rally Monkey to the joys of Saidin.

Ulysses--don't be ridiculous. A fish can't teach a bird to swim anymore than a bird could teach a fish to fly.

I think you need a: "Wow, that's geeky option."

And on the brightside, at least she didn't tug her braid while doing it.

Uh... that's supposed to read: "Wow, that's geeky" option... proof-reading... bah!

I don't know which is worse, that someone answered the obvious Whitecloak (::spit::) answer or that 12 of your readers actually haven't read any of WoT.

I can't believe how many people have not read the WOT! I'm counting down to Oct 27th! I cried when he died before finishing...but that's not going to stop me from getting the next book...

Well at least your obsessions are (relatively) harmless.

I stopped reading the series somewhere around book seven, which was right around the same time I realized that it was never going to end. I think this makes me unqualified to vote.

This tickled my geeky funny bone. Your family is cool :).

Tried to vote, but my internet connection is being a pain this morning - lots of that great Google page "this link appears to be broken".

I number among the clueless.

Love, love, LOVE the WoT series. Been reading it since - what - the mid-70s. Soooo glad the final is coming out. Gonna have to re-read the last four or five books to remind myself what's going on.

I read the Wheel of Time... but I remember absolutely nothing about the entire story, so I still don't know what you're talking about.

Is that bad? Should I check for head injuries?

Somebody, please give us clueless a good hook for the book. It's good practice.

Ciao Moonrat, I thought you would be out dancing in the streets seeing today is the day RtP exits the country for that big ole book-thingy in Germany...

I've voted :D

WoT Books 1-5: quite fun.
Books 6 - wherever it is now: a trudge through sludge.

And, ff someone calls you a Darkfriend, just tug your braid at them.

As long as no one tries to stick a suldam on you. (Isn't that the evil slave necklace used on channeling women? I had to dig in my brain for about 10 minutes to come up with that word.)

I voted that it's funny, but in truth I haven't read the books so I don't know what it's about.

The real question is, have you picked your Ajah yet?

I have yet to read this series, though I am a professed Epic Fantasy lover. Maybe I should rectify this gross oversight soon...

I haven't read it, but I still think that's great. Imagining someone actually saying is funny."You Darkfriend!" Haha! No offense to The Wheel of Time, but Darkfriend doesn't sound like it could be real at all... and not in a good way.

But I suppose I can't talk, since I have yet to be published. I will have to wait to gloat about my corny invented words.

Had the same a couple of years ago on holiday. We were lying in the sunshine in a row reading 1 - husband, 2 - son, 3 - me and 11 - daughter.
