THE TWELVE hits stores!!!!

Oh happiest day! Our long-time mischief buddy Stuart Neville's debut novel, The Twelve, is officially on sale today!!!

(In the UK, at least. US folks have to wait for the US release in October--the US edition will be called Ghosts of Belfast. But it's ok--we get Stuart himself, too, since he's coming over for a tour!)

Congrats, Stuart! May this be the beginning of a long and celebrated literary career!!

Go, Stuart!

I predict a film version within a year, so go out and read it NOW.

I hope he'll still have time to talk to us when he's all rich and famous.

And happy 4th July weekend, MR. I hope you're going to eat lots of delicious things, and won't be chained to the keyboard for any time at all.

Congratulations to Stuart! We left Belfast years ago so hmmm...think I'll have to pick this up while we're out today, now that we've got a flight to sit through on Monday.

And what Froog said, Moon--Happy holiday weekend to you!

Congratulations, Stuart -- looking forward to reading it!

(For thumb-twiddlers in the US: at the moment, amazon.co.uk is offering a 50% off deal on a number of books -- THE TWELVE among others. The discount means that you can obtain THE TWELVE within a week or so, using the basic shipping, for an amount roughly equal to Amazon's price with free shipping and no tax. And you'll be able to read THE TWELVE -- THE TWELVE! -- and not the GHOSTS OF BELFAST thing trailing along months later in the original's* footsteps. :)

Thanks everyone, especially Moonrat! I'm making a point of not doing much of anything today, apart from a reading in Lisburn tonight, and a couple of drop-in signings while I'm there.

And yes, as JES, points out, you can order from Amazon.co.uk if you have an Amazon.com account. Of course, really, you should buy both editions...

:)

Congrats to you, Stuart! Also, if people wish, they can read an interview with Stuart at Electric Spec Ezine's issue just out yesterday. I hadn't realised Stuart wrote spec fic until I saw that!

Moonrat, I have a question I've been wondering about awhile now. Why is it that books published in the UK tend to have their names altered for publishing in the US? This happened with the first HP book (Sorcerer's Stone vs Philosopher's Stone), The Warded Man (UK - The Painted Man), and with Stuart's The Twelve. I'm sure there are others, but those pop into my mind instantly.

I don't get it. Personally, I would have been fine keeping all of the titles as they were intended in the UK.

Stuart has been getting so much buzz with this book! I'm seeing it all over the place.

Congrats, Stuart.
