Saturday morning indie rock moment

Ok, it's not quite indie rock. It's one of my favorite artists of all time, though, trying to make a new break into the Americas again. The feel is really old-school R&B, just so you're not too surprised.

that's awesome! i know i'd heard a rumor they were thinking about something like that, and a lot of publishers were in a tizzy about it, but i think it's a great idea. so many people are off-put by having to wait to order a book; this might help revive out of print or keep going out of print books alive and available. (again, that idea makes some people angry/worried, but not me, as long as authors are still somehow getting royalties.)

I thought so too! I always wondered why publishers never thought of doing more with POD. Also kinda neat that you can download it onto cd/usb stick too.

"Not currently available in China"??!!

Does the song contain 'Free Tibet' references?

How 'old school' is 'old school' here. It seems as though people today often think harking back to the first half of the nineties is some sort of daring musical archaeology. I liked R & B when it was R & B rather than hip-hop or whatever - but that's 40 odd years ago. I don't think they had 'schools' back then.

Speaking of new stuff that sounds like 60's R&B, check out Raphael Saadiq --Love That Girl. I heard it yesterday on NPR. Weird place for current music, huh?

Froog, there is no reference to China or Tibet in any of her lyrics! LOL
It just came out in Japan on the 14th, so it might be a time thing...
I'll try to post something about her new album too...after I listen to it a few times!
Moonrat, you'd be "surprised" at some of the things I listen to!
