Book Club for 4/1: THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN, by Simon Winchester
Just wanted to leave a little reminder... April 1 we'll discuss THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN, the strangely thrilling account of the creation of the Oxford English Dictionary.
I've finished reading already! I know some of you have, too, since you guys recommended it to me.
Looking forward!

I have never heard of it. Thank you for posting. Sounds like a book I would like to read.
I'm very excited about reading/discussing this. Thanks for putting this one out there.
Will you be able to wangle an author interview for this one, Moonie?
(He's done so many books since TPATM that he may be sick of talking about that one, though!)
JES--alas, I don't happen to know his agent, so it seems a bit too last-minute. I should have thought of that weeks ago. Poopy.
But my Harper Perennial edition has an interview with him in the back. I wonder if he would have anything new to say?
Now we have to go about picking May and June titles.
I've owned this audiobook for ages -- it's wonderful to hear it read in an English accent and I recommend that version to others who like audio. I absolutely loved the first half, but then I got stuck because I'd always be in the car with kids voting for a different audio story (usually anything by Phillip Pullman, also read in lovely British accents).
But this settles it: I am going to finish this audiobook! Thanks!
