My mom is quite the opposite, so I'm like "k" when she compliments me or my work. lol
My wife, on the other hand...
My recent book deal finally got MY mom's attention, too. She was actually impressed. And sent me a congratulatory card! Wow.

Aw, that's great! Maybe I'm just a sucker for nice words, but whether they come from my mom or the toughest critic out there, they brighten my day.

Also, I loved your last post. Even though it kind of terrified me.
And I will buy a book this weekend ; )
I think I need to send my ARC to my mother. I was going to give the book to her for Christmas. But I see my Kirkus review is out. And the teaser on-line makes me cringe a little. I wonder if I can somehow manage to not read the rest of the review?

Yeah Momrat!
My mom HATED my first draft two years ago (don't ask, I was soooo naive), so when I won a 'best-first-chapter' contest, she wanted to read it. I sent it, and she loved it and is reading the rest. It was my BEST validation.
Bought oddles of books today, though I simply couldn't buy them all at the Indie store. Just too expensive. So I split my purchases between the Indie, a big box, and amazon. Peace, Linda
