my goal: 7/01/08

I have a creative writing project I've been working on for a long time. I've been dragging my heels very close to the final polish. So I'm setting a goal for myself and declaring it publicly here: I want to finish my draft by July 1st.

Anyone else want to make a writing goal for July 1? It can be pretty small and manageable. But then we can all force one another to stick to it.

Mine's July 22nd which is fairly close. (Right before ComicCon.)

Though in all honesty, if I put my back into it, I could possibly finish my novel this month :)

YES! I'll bite. My current WIP is about 40 pages form completion and July 1 sounds like a perfect goal.

I'm intrigued - do you write in the same genre in which you edit?

CR: no! i think, for me, that would be impossible. others are probably more talented, though.

Ok, I'll bite!

I'll give myself a nice, easy goal. 500 words of something by 7/1.

Good luck with yours!!!!

I'm in too, but my goal is June 28. Close enough, maybe?

Hey! Perfect timing. 7/1 is my goal for a polished, submission-ready manuscript and query. Count me in!

I'll join in! I er, am between manuscripts at the moment. So I promise to write a proposal (synopsis and 50 pages) by July 1. That seems doable!

See there, Moonrat, you've motivated me already! I think I just nailed my pitch.

Damn thing's been driving me nuts for days...

Mine project is barely out the gate so I don't want to set that early a deadline. I'm usually pretty good about finishing things, though. Although I'm sometimes slow.

That is a great goal, Moonie!

My Goal: I am going to try to take a writing break until July 1.

I'd love to be done the first editing draft by July 1st, but to be reasonable, I think I'll only make it through 1/2 of the editing. Deadlines are such a great idea.

I'm in too... I'll write 10 poems by 7/1... this will have me well on my way to getting that second novel in poetry started and out of the gate. This will insure I can hit the ground running when summer school ends and I have more time to write seriously.

Moonie - you and me! I want to finish my WIP to send out to betas by the 1st. You push me and I'll push you, 'kay?

Yay! A reason to commit.

Synopsis and query for sure. Finish the final chapter of Paladin's Pride.
