Endearing, I think.

I thought at first that looked like a lavatory cistern. But no?

I was thinking, it's forbidden to flush wine bottles inside picnic hampers down this toilet??. Now, how often is that particular abuse of public utilities likely to happen?

I don't want to use up all the personal faves I've been saving up to put on my own blog, but.... since I love you, Moonrat, I'll give you the world premiere on this. The digital displays alongside the lines for the security checks at two or three provincial Chinese airports I have passed through recently, include this among the long list of things you shouldn't try to carry on to a plane: "No prohibited dirks."

Hmm, so some dirks are OK??

I haven't yet found a Chinese person who has any idea what a dirk is. Oh, the curse of electronic dictionaries!!

You need to heck out Engrish.com if you have not yet done so. I have wasted many hours giggling here.
