another Gawkerism

Called "Correction of the Day" and taken from the fine British periodical THE GUARDIAN:

"We misspelled the word misspelled twice, as mispelled, in the Corrections and clarifications column on September 26, page 30."

Poor proof-reading on The Guardian has been notorious for decades. It's routine to joke about it in other publications; these days they even seem to be joining in the merriment themselves.

For this reason, the paper is commonly called in jest The Grauniad.
